Greetings all! Todays treat is "Dead Alive". Hailed as a "gore fest" this masterpiece of cinematic history gets a 7.6 on IMDB and 4 stars on Netflix. Directed by Lord of the Fings famed director Peter Jackson. I'm going to try something new here as I'm just getting into blogging. Follow closely, it's called trailers View Trailer HERE.
This one starts with some pretty good acting and a beautiful young shop keeper. A mother's boy and a little romantic atmosphere between them two. However mom isn't having any of it and tries to sabotage his only date with the hotty store clerk.
During the sabotage attempt mom is bitten by a horrible little monkey beast and starts to fall apart at some very inopportune times. The first victim is a poor defenseless dog. Really a dog? Come on! Mom dies as they try to help . Once reanimated granny's got game! She has the strength to rip a nurses head off and manhandle her son. Once mom escapes the house she is run over by a trolley but the infected nurse is still on the loose.
This old ragged woman will not give up! Of course he can knock her out with sedatives. Even buried she is one mean bitch. And of course anyone she kills comes back. Who knew that the priest was a marshal arts master?!
Update into psychoville! Now this pansy assed mammas boy is taking care of all these things in his house, all while trying to protect himself and his inheritance from his uncle. Ok so seeing a zombie priest nailing a zombie nurse was not the better part of my morning but hey different strokes.
wow somethings I'm going to leave for the viewer on this one but DAYUM!! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Finally all Zombie hell breaks loose. And boy does Peter Jackson know how to gore up a movie!
In the end though, the mamas boy stands up to his Zombie mother, wins out over the Zombie horde, gets the girl and alls well that ends well, or is it? Overall I would highly suggest this movie for any Zombie fan!
acting: not far from pretty good
gore factor: pretty damn gory but highly unrealistic
story: at least it made some damn sense in some areas!
I give this 3 and 1/2 severed thumbs. And remember folks
