Day of the Dead 2: Contagium

OH DEAR GOD NOT THIS ONE!

Greetings all! Today's movie is Day of the Dead 2: Contagium. Having seen this movie once already, I had vowed never to watch this piece of shit again. But for you all, I'll make an exception. Here we go. This film was given 2.3 stars on netflix and 2.3/10 on IMDB. you can view the trailer HERE.( I cant believe Anchor Bay put this their name on this piece of shit)

These events are supposed to be what leads up to Romero's Day of the Dead. Of course in my opinion they should be sued for even using the title.
This film starts with an outbreak at a military base in 1968. As the military tries to contain it, they kill everyone and everything moving, alive or undead. One of the men grabs a vial of the substance that created the outbreak and drops it in the weeds as he tries to make a run for it.

Jump ahead to modern times. the place is now a mental asylum that houses well,,, fucking nutjobs. One of the looneys tries to be a deep thinker . Doesn't work pal sorry.  Part of the nutjobs are on a clean up detail and finds the 30 year old thermos that contains the vial.

Isaac (the deep thinker) has a bad feeling about opening the container. oooohhhh. And he has a crush on another inmate, Emma. One of the more stable yet nutty inmates decides to steal the thermos and open it up. All the while Isaac and Emma are making out with the Dr's approval. WTF?  Is this a Whorehouse or a mental institute.

They get the vial open and Emma and the rest are taken back to their respective areas. All those present when the vial was opened start to demonstrate side effects such as coughing, high fever, restlessness and eventually develope a taste for human flesh. All the while retaining their mental capacity. Their is so many side stories and weird events in this movie that it barely makes any sense what so ever. Only Isaac and Emma pick up on the fact that they are morphing into something else.
The head Dr knows something about what is going but does not let the others know, instead he calls a general in the Department of Homeland Security. He gives permission to shoot anyone coming from the males dormitory. The really sad part is that the acting isn't that bad by some of the main characters. Once the Zombie Mayhem ensues the gore factor is pretty high but cheap in quality.

The Zombie outbreak spills over into the outside area surrounding the premises. The Zombies Start attacking the neighborhood and spreading the virus.

I found it extremely difficult to sit through this movie a second time it's that bad.
Stay away from this movie! This seriously falls under the "I want my hour and a half back" category.
With great hesitation do I give this one severed thumb. And thats because I dont have zero.
Remember, I watch this shit so you dont have to!
